Specific Detail Info |
This study examines the performance of district health managers in high and low performing districts in Indonesia in an attempt to understand whether, and the extent to which, they affect the performance of their district health services (DHS).
The purpose of the study is to identify management and leadership practices that may contribute to high DHS performance and contribute to evidence-informed policy making to strengthen health management and leadership at the district level. The study includes recommendations for addressing the issues of: ageing of the management workforce at District Health Office level, limited training in health management and leaderships, and limited role of district health managers in human resources management. |
